As a Secondary School Tutor over the past 8 years, I have nurtured many ‘O’ Level students, ensuring that they had the skills and exam techniques necessary to excel during their exams.
Nicholas’ deep understanding of the ‘O’ Level syllabus allows him to bring a wealth of knowledge, expertise, and mastery to his lessons. As he firmly believes that students need to be engaged and interested in order to excel, he employs a variety of teaching methods, including hands-on activities, real-world examples and interactive class discussions, to make science concepts real and relevant for his students.
The majority of his students have seen huge improvements after joining his classes, with over 60% of students scoring A1/A2 for their ‘O’ Levels and 80% scoring at least a B3.
About me
I believe that education encompasses much more than just achieving good grades. It's about shaping a student's character, strengthening their resilience, and instilling in them a strong sense of determination. In my classes, I strive to provide a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel safe to ask questions, discover new perspectives and explore their interests.

Unlike other tutors out there, Mr Darrell provides an easy understanding yet in-depth explanation of every topics and makes sure you understand before moving on.
He teaches not only for the sake of teaching but he lets you understands why you need to learn certain things and the importance of it. However, with that said, he stills follows very closely with the MOE syllabus to make sure everything he teaches is relevant to what we are studying, which makes students like me appreciate it.
He is also always readily available to answer your questions eagerly be it through texts or lessons.Overall, mr Darrell is a cheerful, eager and patient teacher. With him, you will never go wrong.

I would say that Darrell is like a brother, friend and tutor all in one to me! He’s a brother because he shares about his personal life during tuition lessons which makes the lesson less boring. He’s a friend because he really cares for us. During exam periods, he’ll give us advice to not be so stressed and just do our best. I mean all teachers probably do that but I can feel Darrell's earnest sincerity when he does it. He’ll even share with us his own/ his friends experiences and it does really make me less anxious about exams.

Also, all the short forms he created and the analogies he used helped make it much easier for us to memorise the keywords for physics. The prelim papers he reviewed with us helped a lot in knowing the different keywords for different topics, preparing us well for exams.

My 'O' Level Chemistry tutor, Mr Darrell Er, is a very fun and dedicated teacher. His lessons are never boring.
He always gives detailed explanations for our questions to make sure we really understood the concepts involved. Sometimes he would also bring up similar questions to elaborate on certain concepts further, so that we would be exposed to the different variations of that concept.

Darrell taught me for both Pure Chemistry and Pure Physics. Not only was he a fun, engaging and very bubbly teacher, which made it very easy for me to pay attention and understand concepts. I also learnt interesting ways from him to memorise key concepts for both topics. After attending his classes at OVERMUGGED, I finally gained better understanding of exam answering techniques and lastly, I love that he cares for us and buys us bubble tea to cheer us on.

Darrell was a very fun teacher and his teaching allowed me to apply concepts from both physics and chemistry to real life examples so that began to understand the topics alot better. After attending his class at OVERMUGGED, I found myself not needing to think too hard when solving exam questions and key words also came to me easily while I sat for my prelim papers.
